Each year, the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action sponsors an international celebration of breastfeeding, emphasizing a particular issue that impacts breastfeeding around the world.

In 2008 the theme was:
"Exclusive Breastfeeding for 6 months, the gold Standard' an illusion to
the 2008 Olympics and its gold medals.

In 2007 the theme was:
Breastfeeding: The 1st Hour - Save ONE million babies

In 2006 the slogan for WBW was::
Code Watch: 25 Years of Protecting Breastfeeding

This year, 2009, the theme will be "Breastfeeding: A Vital Emergency Response
Are you ready?" The theme will draw attention to the vital role that breastfeeding plays in emergencies worldwide.
